Jasmir Creed

Jasmir Creed is an artist based in Manchester exploring cities and their urban environment, she is highly influenced and fascinated by iconic buildings and the juxtaposition between the buildings and the people or environment around it. 'Smog' was a piece as it is explored pollution effecting different areas. Her lecture bombarded me with so much information that I was finding it difficult to write notes down before she would change onto a different topic. Also some of the pieces she was explaining seemed a bit repetitive which is never a bad thing as most artists follow a similar theme throughout the development with their work. However, I didn't feel some of the things were relevant to keep on repeating. Overall, I did genuinely enjoy this lecture as Jasmir has a fascinating outlook on urban environments with the juxtaposition of iconic buildings, playing with the idea of gentrification.
